This site was originally allocated within the Mendip Part II Local Plan, before its allocated status was rescinded following a successful Judicial Review challenge against the site selection process undertaken in support of the Part II Local Plan.

An outline planning application for up to for up to 180 dwellings was submitted and was taken to the Somerset Council Planning Committee with an officer recommendation to approve.   Following a Member overturn, the application refused and an appeal lodged against the Council.

Prior to the Public Inquiry held in February 2025 Somerset Council decided not to contest the appeal.   Planning Permission was subsequently granted on the 20 February 2025.
